I grew up fairly close to Earlham, so I had been on campus before to go to the Joseph Moore Museum as a child. Once I was at the pointing my life to be considering colleges, I was drawn back to this familiar place. After my first visit, I felt comfortable in the small classes and the friendly environment, so I knew Earlham was the place for me.
As a sophomore, I haven't used my EPIC Advantage yet, but I have been really involved with the EPIC Center for Environmental Leadership. I've been to many events held by or at Miller Farm, and currently I am a part of the Student Sustainability Corps. This has given me the opportunity to be involved in the Earlham community's sustainability.
My favorite professor--though it's very hard to choose!--is Steve Heiny. Steve is such a quirky person, deeming all of my freshman honor's class the mayor of our respective hometowns. He makes you feel really comfortable in his class, and overall he is great at moderating class discussion and prompting new thinking from his students.
