Hometown: Newport, KY
Major: Biochemistry
Concentration: Medical Humanities
My favorite professor is Dr. Lindsey McGee. She is one of the best Biology professors a student could ever have. She is able to break down complex and intricate topics in a way that has made them so easy for me to grasp. I've had a couple of classes with her and they were some of my favorite classes.
My EPIC Journey at Earlham is the pursuit of a medical career. The Center of Global Health and the indispensable help of Jessie Pilewski, Associate Director of the Center for Global Health, have been my guides on this journey. They helped me I draft a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, and plan my class schedule in order to meet all medical school requirements. I would not have known where to start without the wonderful people working in the center. The center has introduced me to many doctors and medical professionals and I have been able to build long-term relationships with them. Also, the Center for Global Health has helped to strengthen my medical school application by providing the opportunity to volunteer/shadow at Reid Health, the local hospital. I completed an internship in Reid;s Radiology Department and was able to witness the work that they do, and hone my professional skills.
